Guadalupe River. The river by the house is so deep and wide that it is
sometimes called, "Center Point Lake."
Just around the corner from the HightAway House is the flowing dam that
has provided hours of fun for our kids.
Lots of water fun: swimming, fishing, canoeing, tubing or just float in the river!
The HightAway House is in the heart of the Hill Country:
Ten miles to Kerrville and the YO Ranch,
Ten miles to Comfort and great antique shopping,
Twenty miles to Bandera, the "Cowboy Capital of the World,"
Twenty miles to Fredericksburg for wineries and shopping.
Go on a Hill-Country wine tour through
Fredericksburg, Sisterdale, and Comfort.
Hike Lost Maples State Park, Enchanted Rock or many
other beautiful Hill Country areas.
Canoe the Guadalupe.
Go antique shopping in Center Point, and
Comfort.
Go golfing at the Buckhorn in Comfort or Shriner
public course in Kerrville.
Check out Dave's Botanical Garden and Biergarten on
the Guadalupe in Center Point
